ザカリヤとエリザベツは結婚してからずっと子供を欲しがっていました。しかし叶わず、ついにはエリザベツが周囲の嘘を信じはじめ、自分が恥とされる不妊の女であると自分自身を見るところにまで至ったのです。しかしそうではありませんでした。
エリザベツの本当の価値は妊娠できるかどうかに基づいてはいませんでした。彼女の本当の価値は創造主から生まれたのです。エリザベツと彼女の夫は、神の御前に正しい人として見られていました。 なんと素晴らしいことでしょうか！ そこにどんな恥があるでしょう！
「偽のニュース」は、神を信じる人々の心と思いにとって新しい概念ではありません。私たちはいつもそれらを信じ受け入れてしまいます。 神は今日あなたのために素晴らしいことをしており、いつもあなたを心にかけておられます。それを信じ、喜びましょう！

“The Lord has done this for me, in these days He has shown His favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.” (Luke 1:25)

Zechariah and Elizabeth had wanted a child for all of their married life. It had come to a point where Elizabeth had begun to believe the lies around her and saw her inability to bear a child as a disgrace. It wasn’t. Her true value was not based upon her ability to conceive. Her true value was born of her Creator. Elizabeth and her husband were seen as upright people in God’s eyes. That’s amazing! There is absolutely no disgrace there!  

“Fake News” is not a new concept to the heart and minds of God’s people; we believe and accept them all time. God is doing great things for you today and is showing you His favor all the time. Believe that and rejoice!

「変えられること」

だれに対してでも、悪に悪を報いることをせず、すべての人が良いと思うことを図りなさい。あなたがたは、自分に関する限り、すべての人と平和を保ちなさい。 （ローマ12：17,18）

クリスマスと新年のお祝いがもうすぐ私たちにやってきます。新年の到来前に物事を急いで片付けようする傾向も同時にやってくるでしょう。私はすでに、危険な運転をするドライバーと、忙しい母親が電動自転車で歩道を疾走し、危うく誰かとぶつかりそうになることが増えているのに気づいています。

デッドラインの12月31日にすべてを間に合わせるようにゴールするためには、クリスマスの楽しみをすべて諦めたほうがいいでしょう。

イエスは、聖霊によって導かれ、強められた霊的な人生を生きるように私たちを召しています。そしてまた、私たちの周りにいるほとんどの人とは違ったレースを走るように求めています。何が正しいことなのかを見失わず、この季節を急いでいる人たちと共に心安らかに過ごしましょう。

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. (Romans 12:17,18)

Christmas and the New Year’s celebration will soon be upon us. So will the tendency to rush and wrap things up before the coming of the New Year. I’m already noticing an increase in aggressive driving on the roads and of the uptick of near misses as busy mothers zoom by on their motorized bicycles on the sidewalks! It would be most natural to lose all Christmas cheer as we speedily race to the finish line that is December 31^st.

「平安を生きること」

ルツは言った。「あなたを捨て、あなたから別れて帰るように、私にしむけないでください。あなたの行かれる所へ私も行き、あなたの住まれる所に私も住みます。あなたの民は私の民、あなたの神は私の神です。あなたの死なれる所で私は死に、そこに葬られたいのです。もし死によっても私があなたから離れるようなことがあったら、主が幾重にも私を罰してくださるように。」（ルツ記1:16-17）

ルツ記に記されている、未亡人の義母であるナオミに対するルツの応答を通してわかるのは、実生活ではめったに見ることができない他者への愛と献身です。それは、本来あるはずがない位のものです。

この不和と個人的な自己利益に満ちた人生において、状況を逆転させましょう。そして他者への愛によって動かされる人生を選び取りましょう。 私たちがそうすることを選んだ時、神が開く新しい扉を見ることはなんと心踊ることでしょうか！

Do not urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me. (Ruth 1:16-17)

Reading through Ruth’s response to Naomi, her widowed mother-in-law, in Scripture is to see a love and devotion for someone else rarely seen in real life. It shouldn’t be.

In a life full of divisiveness and personal self-gain; let’s turn the tide around and choose a life motivated by a love for others. It will be exciting to see the doors that God can open when we choose to do so!

そこでイエスは言われた。「十人きよめられたのではないか。九人はどこにいるのか。神をあがめるために戻って来た者は、この外国人のほかには、だれもいないのか。」それからその人に言われた。「立ち上がって、行きなさい。あなたの信仰が、あなたを直したのです。」（ルカ17：11-19）

今週の聖書箇所：ルカ17：11-19

この聖書箇所において、イエスは彼に助けを叫び求める十人のハンセン病患者に出くわします。イエスは彼らを癒し、ユダヤ人の慣習に従って何をしなければならないかを伝えました。 そのうちの一人だけが素晴らしい変化に気付き、新しい人生を与えられた喜びに、イエスを褒め称え感謝を表すため、イエスの元に立ち戻ります。

十人のうちたったの一人です。 あまりにもしばしば私たちはただ助けを叫び求めるだけの90％のうちの一人で、イエスが私たちのためにしてくださったすべてのことを感謝し心から褒め称える10％のうちの一人になることはめったにありません。

感謝を捧げるこの季節に、イエスに心からの“ありがとう”を捧げる時間を持ちましょう。そしてそれをこの季節だけでなくすべての季節に広げていきましょう！

Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?” Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner? Then He said, “ Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” (Luke 17:11-19)

This week’s reading: Luke 17:11-19.

In today’s passage, Jesus comes across 10 lepers shouting out to Him for help. He heals them and tells them what they must do according to Jewish custom. Only one of them notices the great change and returns to express praise and thanksgiving for a chance at a new life. Only one out of the ten. Too often we are a part of the 90% shouting out for help and not often enough a part of the 10% praising and thanking Jesus for all He has done.

In this season of thanksgiving, let’s take time to give “thanks” to Him and then extended it into all seasons!

隣の芝はいつでも青々として見えます。多くの人にとって、より青い芝を求めずにいられない強迫観念は、主との歩みにあっても止むことのない欲求です。しかしそれでは自分の人生における立場に決して満足することはできず、また幸せを感じることもありません。使徒パウロの、キリストの御業を体験したいという祈り求めもまた、私たちが祈り求め想像するより“もっと”を得た体験に基づいていました。

神の“もっと”の概念との大きな違いは、それが「自分のため、自分だけよければよい」ということではないということです。私たちのそれは単純に神の御業の前には取るに足らないことです。

イエスは私たちが描くものよりもっと有意義で、満ち足り、重要な神のご計画の一部になるように私たちを招いています。青々とした芝であるキリストは、主のために人生を捧げる人々を待っています！

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

It may seem that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. For many, the obsession for greener grass is a singular pursuit in their walk with the Lord. Never happy, never satisfied with their’ position in life. The apostle Paul’s prayer to experience the mystery of Christ in life is also grounded in experiencing “more” than we could ask for or imagine. The great difference between God’s idea of “more” is that it is never about “more for me and for me alone.” It’s simply too small a request for it to be described as mysterious. Jesus invites us to be a part of a story more meaningful, more satisfying, and more significant than our own. The greener grass of Christ awaits those willing to laid down their lives for Him!

神のために最善を尽くすことと、完璧さを狙うことの間には大きな違いがあります。 神は私たちの不完全さをすべてご存知ですが、それでもなお私たちを神の偉大なご計画の一部となるべく召してくださいます。

私たちはしばしば自分たちが成功していて、とてもよくやっていると（自分自身が）感じることだけに夢中になりがちです。私たちの完璧さ、私たちの義とは、キリストを通してのみ与えられるのです。他にはどんな方法もありません。あなたはどのように神を追い求めていますか？

This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” The words “it was credited to him” were written not for Abraham alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness – for us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. (Romans 4:23-25)

There is a great difference between doing your very best for God and shooting for perfection. God knows all about our imperfections and still calls upon us to be a part of His great story. Sometimes we can get caught up in only feeling good about of ourselves when we are successful or doing really well. Our perfection, our righteousness comes only through Christ and in absolutely no other way. How do you pursue God?

「完璧ではない信仰」

彼は、不信仰によって神の約束を疑うようなことをせず、反対に、信仰がますます強くなって、神に栄光を帰し、神には約束されたことを成就する力があることを堅く信じました。だからこそ、それが彼の義とみなされたのです。（ローマ人への手紙 4:20－22）

神が義とみなしてくださるのにとても恵み深いことは明らかです。アブラハムは彼の不信仰によって右に左にと揺れ動きました。アブラハムは弱く、約束を守り成就させてくださる神の力を信じきることができませんでした。しかし、それでもアブラハムは神の召しに従い、神がそうしろということをしたのです。まだ聖書などない時代で、素晴らしいとは決して言えない信仰の持ち主だったのにも関わらず、です。アブラハムは不完全で、怖がりで疑い深く、神の働きについて無知でした。まるで私たちみたいですね？

イエスはからし種ほどの信仰があれば山をも動かせると言いました。神の力と私たちのほんの小さな信仰が奇跡を起こすのです。

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had the power to do what he had promised. This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” (Romans 4:20-22)

Obviously, God is very gracious when giving out credit! Abraham wavered to the left and to the right in unbelief. He often seemed weak and not persuaded in the power of God to protect and to fulfill His promise. But Abraham did go, as called to do so, regardless of his less than stellar faith in a God whom nothing was yet written in stone or papyrus. He was imperfect, scared, doubtful, and ignorant of the workings of God. Oh, it sounds a bit like us, doesn’t it?

Jesus said it takes the faith of mustard seed to move mountains. The emphasis is on the power of God and a little bit of faith on our part to experience the miraculous.

「小さな信仰」

...民は信じた。彼らは、主がイスラエル人を顧み、その苦しみをご覧になったことを聞いて、ひざまずいて礼拝した。”（出エジプト記4:31）

そしてモーセに言った。「エジプトには墓がないので、あなたは私たちを連れて来て、この荒野で、死なせるのですか。私たちをエジプトから連れ出したりして、いったい何ということを私たちにしてくれたのです。」（出エジプト記14:11）

主の導きに従うことを選ぶとき、しばしば、自分が真に主に従うことを選んだことがないという事実が明らかになります。イスラエル人は主の導きに従ってエジプトを出た後に、信仰の深さの実態が明らかになりました。ここで彼らがどれだけ本当に神を信頼していたのかが明らかになったのです。

　突然、現金や必要な物資が足りなくなった時、あるいは快適な環境から遠ざかってしまった時、私たちのイエスに対する信仰と献身がどれほどものなのかがわかります。そしてそれは私たちが予想するよりもずっと大したものではないものです。

神は、私たちがもっと神の勧めに心をオープンにするために、自分自身について知ることができる状況が人生に起こることをお許しになります。それはしかし、私たちを不愉快にさせたり恥をかかせるためではありません。主の恵みがますます素晴らしいものになるためなのです。

“… and they believed. And when they heard that the Lord was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped.” (Exodus 4:31)

They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us out to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?” (Exodus 14:11)

When I choose to follow the leading of the Lord, circumstances will often begin to reveal truths about myself that I would never be able to see had I chosen not to follow Him. It certainly revealed the true depth of faith among the Israelites. I don’t know about that cynical comment on there being no graves in Egypt but it did reveal how much they really trusted God.

When we suddenly find ourselves short on cash or resources or out of our comfort zone - our reaction may sometimes reveal a faith and commitment to Jesus that is not as strong as earlier presumed. God allows circumstances into our lives to teach us things about ourselves in order that we may be more open to His counsel - not to make us feel and look bad. It’s what makes grace so amazing again and again!

「自分の本当の姿を知る」

テラは、その息子アブラムと、ハランの子で自分の孫のロトと、息子のアブラムの妻である嫁のサライとを伴い、彼らはカナンの地に行くために、カルデヤ人のウルからいっしょに出かけた。しかし、彼らはハランまで来て、そこに住みついた。（創世記11:31）

アブラムの父親であるテラは、カナンの地へ進行く代わりに、ハランに落ち着くことを選びました。その一方で、アブラムは神の呼びかけに応じて、前に進み続けました。

私たちが神の呼びかけの後、そこに腰を落ち着けてしまうことは簡単です。

私たちは、神がくださる何か新しい事柄についての約束よりも、古い習慣、快適な環境、慣れ親しんだ居心地良さの中にいる安全を優先してしまいます。

それが間違った場所でない限り、落ち着くことに何も問題はありません。

しかし、その場所が神の示す場所ほどではない、やがて沢山の後悔をすることになるかもしれない場所ならば、間違いを恐れず思い切って神の約束に向かって進みましょう。そうすれば後悔は少なくなるでしょう。

Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled there. (Genesis 11:31)

Terah, the father of Abram, chose to settle down in Haran instead of moving on towards the Land of Canaan. Abram, on the other hand, took the calling of God and kept moving.

It can be so easy for us to feel like settling down after the call of God. We choose to settle down upon old habits, comforts, and the safety of familiarity over the promises of God for something new. There is nothing wrong with settling down unless it’s in the wrong place. A place that is not quite of God; a place that leads to many regrets down the road. Risk the promises of God over making a mistake and it will lead to fewer regrets.

あなたの人生における神の様々な召しの中、まったく無意味だと感じるような時があるでしょう。 あなたが‘’死んだも同然である‘’と感じる、そのようなときにこそ、アブラハムやサラのように、私たちは信仰によって前進し続けなければなりません。なぜなら、召しを受けたものが最後に信仰の実を結ぶからです。

And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendents as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore. (Hebrews 11:12)    

 In the midst of God’s various callings upon your life, there will come times when it will feel like a lost cause. Times when you will personally feel “as good as dead!” It is during these times, like Abraham and Sarah, we keep moving forward by faith because the One who has given the calling will be found faithful to the end!

主はアブラムに仰せられた。「わたしはあなたを大いなる国民とし、あなたを祝福し、あなたの名を大いなるものとしよう。あなたの名は祝福となる。

あなたを祝福するものをわたしは祝福し、あなたをのろう者を私はのろう。

地上のすべての民族は、あなたによって祝福される。」（創世記12：2,3）

あなたの人生のための神の意志とは、単に神の祝福を受けて、そこから更にもっと多くの祝福を求めるということ以上のものです。 あなたのための神の御心は、あなた自身の世界のみならず、神の世界をも常に包み込んでいます。 自分自身が他の人の祝福となることができるようにしなさい。それが神が豊かにあなたを祝福する方法です！

God tells Abram, “I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I

will bless you, and who ever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” (Gen. 12:2,3)

God’s will for your life is much more than simply receiving His blessings and then later asking for more of it. God’s will for you has always encompassed much more than just your own world but instead includes His. Make yourself available to be a blessing to others – it is the way God blesses His own in abundance!

未知の領域への神の導きに従うという選択をすることは、あなたの名前で神を信頼することを伴います。それは小さなことではないかもしれませんが、自分自身を委ねることができる者として、神様以外に他の素晴らしい誰か、もしくは何かを思いつくでしょうか？ 

だとすれば、結局のところ、そのような厳しい決断ではないかもしれません！

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great.” 

(Genesis 12:2)

Making a choice to follow God’s leading into unknown territory will involve trusting Him with your name. It may not be a small thing but can you think of anyone or anything greater to entrust it with? Maybe not such a tough decision after all!

しかし、十一人の弟子達は、ガリラヤに行って、イエスの指示された山に登った。そして、イエスにお会いしたとき、彼らは礼拝した。しかし、ある者は疑った。 
（マタイ28：16,17）

弟子たちはいつも12人でひとつのチームでしたが、今では1人によって数が少なくなってしまいました。 当然ながら、何人かはイエスの復活を疑いました。時に、見るということだけでは信じるのに不十分だからです。（私たちはみな何かについて罪を犯しています！）

 イエスの弟子たちへの召しは、イエスがもはや肉体ではなく霊のみで彼らと一緒にいることを考えれば、さらに大きくなったことでしょう。 2人少なくなったのです。完全なチームとして欠けていて、心に疑いがあるにも関わらず、彼らは良い知らせを世界にもたらしました。 私は彼らが行ってくれて本当にうれしいです。あなたもそうではありませんか？

いつか誰かが、完璧ではない状況にもかかわらず、あなたが神の召しに耳を傾けたことを喜ぶでしょう。

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Him, they worshipped Him; but some doubted. (Matthew 28:16,17)

There had always been twelve of them and now they were short by one. Naturally, some of them doubted because seeing isn’t always enough to believe. (Something that we are all guilty of doing!)

 The calling upon the disciples of Jesus was even greater considering that He was only going to be with them in Spirit and no longer in the flesh. Minus two. But nevertheless, lacking a full team and with doubt in their hearts; they took the Good News to the world. I am so glad they went, aren’t you?

Someday, others will be glad that you heeded the calling of God, despite of your less than perfect conditions.

備えをする世界一良い方法は特に年齢や経験、見た目や装備に関係ないかもしれません。あなたの人生における神様の呼びかけに対する最も良い準備の仕方は「準備万端」と思えることではなく、「生ける神様」があなたと共に行って下さるという事を知る事ではないでしょうか。ですから、次の一歩を踏み出しましょう。神様は決して人生という戦場に立ち往生したままのあなたを置き去りにしたりしません。

“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.

Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer in front of him, kept coming closer to David. 

(I Sam. 17:39-41)

Sometimes the best preparation in the world does not come in the form of age, experience, appearance, or equipment. The best preparation for the callings of God in your life is not “feeling ready” but knowing that it is the “Living God” that goes with you. So take the next step forward. He will never leave you stranded on the battlefield of life.

ダビデの目の前に広がる戦地は彼の兄エリアブやサウル王とは全く違いました。このペリシテ人の大男と戦わない論理的かつ実用的な理由はいくらでもありました。私自身その多くの理由を思いつきますが、ダビデは違いました。彼は戦いに行くためのたった一つの理由しかありませんでした。それは生ける神様が彼と共にいるからという理由です。あなは多くの場合、戦線に立って準備をしているけれどなかなか前に進もうとしていないということはありませんか？今信仰の一歩を踏みましょう。生ける神様はあなたの傍らにいて下さいます！

But David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.”  (I Sam. 17:32)

This week’s reading: I Samuel 17: 1-37.

David’s view of the battlefield just in front of him looked very different from his older brother Eliab’s and also that of King Saul’s. There were many logical and practical reasons not to go to battle against this giant Philistine. I could think of many myself, but not with David. He could only think of one reason to go – the Living God was on his side. Do you find yourself on many occasions only preparing to stand on the battle lines but unwilling to move forward? Take a step of faith right now, the Living God is on your side!

あなたは、あなたの生まれ故郷、あなたの父の家を出て、わたしが示す地へ行きなさい。（創世記１２：１）     

 今週の聖書個所：創世記１２：１－５      

神様がアブラムに対して召された時、二つの言葉が出てきました。それは「出なさい」と「行きなさい」でした。

今のあなたの人生における状況（身体的、霊的、感情的）を考えた時これら二つの言葉はあなたに当てはまりますか？

神様はあなたのために今日もっと良い計画があるかもしれないのです。

神様との冒険は最初の一歩を踏み出す決断をすることから始まります！  

The Lord said to Abram, “Leave your country, your
people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.” 

(Gen.12:1)

Two words from the Lord jump out in the call upon Abram: to “leave” and to “go.” 

When thinking about your situation (physical, spiritual, emotional) in life today, 

do these words from the Lord apply to you? God may have better plans for your life
today. Your journey with the Lord begins with your decision to take that first step!

今日、誰かを祝福し、悪いものに対して良いもので打ち勝ちなさい。

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

The Bible says that if use my Words it will accomplish my purposes in the life of another. Who will you take the time to give one of the greatest gifts that you have to offer through Jesus Christ? Bless someone today and overcome evil with good.

「輝ける顔」

望みを抱いて喜び、患難に耐え、絶えず祈りに励みなさい。聖徒の入用に協力し、旅人をもてなしなさい。あなたがたを迫害する者を祝福しなさい。祝福すべきであって、のろってはいけません。（ローマ12：12－14） 

呪うのではなく、祝福しなさいというパウロの訓戒は安全な環境の中で与えられた訳ではありません。それはあなたの内にある聖霊の生きた力とともに、あなたが果たさなければならない努力も十分考慮された上で与えられたのです。呪いではなく祝福となりうる可能性はあなたの中に計り知れないほどあります。あなた自身の意思を持って他の人を聖霊にあって祝福しましょう。あなたはきっと、あなたを通じた神様の働きに驚くことでしょう。   

“Be joyful in hope, patient in infliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.” (Romans 12:12-14)

Paul’s admonition to bless and not curse isn’t given within a sterile environment. It is given with the full awareness of the effort it will take on your part along with the living power of the Holy Spirit within you. The potential within in you to be a blessing and not a curse to others is unfathomable. Will yourself to bless others in spirit and be amazed at what God can do through you!

「神の祝福とは」

イエスは近づいて来て、彼らにこう言われた。｢わたしには天においても、地においても、いっさいの権威が与えられています。それゆえ、あなたがたは行って、あらゆ る国の人々を弟子としなさい。そして、父、子、聖霊の御名によってバプテスマを授け、また、わたしがあなたがたに命じておいたすべてのことを守るように、彼ら を教えなさい。見よ。わたしは、世の終わりまで、いつも、あなたがたとともにいます。（マタイ２８：１８－２０）　  

それでは、何を始めるべきでしょうか？あなたは神様から十分情報を得ました。そして聖霊様の促しも聞きました。

しかし変わらなければなりません。変えられて行くた めのステップはあなたがまず第一歩を踏み出し、また次の一歩を踏み出すことから始まるのです。そして忘れていはいけません、イエス様が次のステップを通り抜け る時にも常に共にいて下さることを！  

Then Jesus came to them, “All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Okay, so what do you need to start doing? You have received enough information from God, and heard the Holy Spirit speak and nudge you on. But no change. Steps to transformation begin with you taking the first step and the next one too. And remember, Jesus is with you always, even through your next step!

今週の聖書個所：使徒10章.

神様と静かな時を過ごす時、神様は語り、私たちが行動するように背中を押します。ペテロの場合、聖霊に聞き従い、異邦人に仕えることで謙虚さを学びました。その結果、聖書に記録されている数多くの改宗の中の最初になったのです。神様や他の人たちに仕えることはあなたの人生において謙虚さを保つのに最高の方法です。
神様はあなたに今日何を言おうとしているでしょうか？

   

While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Holy Spirit said to him, “Peter, three men are looking for you. So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them.” (Acts 10:19)

This week’s reading: Acts 10.

In times alone with God, He does speak and He does inspire us to move. In Peter’s case, it meant learning humbleness by listening to the Holy Spirit and serving the Gentiles. It resulted in the first of many recorded conversions in Scripture. Service to God and others is a great way to learn and keep humbleness alive in your life. What does God want to say to you today?

全ての人にとって人生の束縛から自由になる時間は必要です。もしあなたが｢いつものように｣神様に会いに行ったとしたらあなたの人生はどう変わるでしょうか？恵み、自由、受け入れ、そして愛のための時間。人生の内、これよりも大切なことはそれほどないのです！

Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and His disciples followed Him. (Luke 22:39)

Everyone needs a time to be free from all the constraints of life. How would your life change if you “went out as usual” to meet God? A time for grace, freedom, acceptance, and love - not much in life compares!

今週の聖書個所　申命記１４：２２～２７

あなたの喜びは完全であると言えますか？聖書の中で、喜びは御霊の実として表わされています。実を実らせるには常に栄養を与え、水を与え、手をかけなければなりません。祝うと言う事を霊的に訓練することで喜びは魂の内で育って行くのです。それは私たちの多くにとって自然にできる事ではありません。あなたは定期的に神様から与えていただいた人生を祝っているでしょうか？だからパウロは２度も言ったのです、主にあって喜びなさいと！

“For seven days celebrate the Feast to the Lord your God at the place the Lord will choose. For the Lord your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete.” (16:15)

This week’s reading: Deuteronomy 14:22-27.

Would you describe your joy as being complete? Joy is described in Scripture as a fruit of the Spirit. It needs to be nourished and watered and tended to regularly in order to bear fruit. Joy is cultivated in the soul through the spiritual practice of celebration – something that may not come naturally for many of us. Do you regularly celebrate the life that God has given you? It’s why Paul says it twice: Rejoice in the Lord!

「ゆっくりとした喜び」

キリスト・イエスにある恵みによって強くなりなさい。（テモテへの手紙第二 2章1 節）     

「キリスト・イエスにある恵みによって強くなりなさい」とは、つまり、どのようにして神様の恵みの中で生きるかを学ぶことです。罪を許してもらうことについて上手になることではありません。

これは、あなた自身ではできないことを行うための力を 神様から受け取るための日々の霊的な練習です。

霊的なしつけとは、すなわち、イエスの御姿に似た者となっていくために恵みを受け取るという行為なのです。    

 “ Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 2:1).   

“Being strong in the grace that is found in Jesus,” is all about learning how to live in the grace of God. It is not to grow in being forgiven for your sins. It is the daily spiritual practice of receiving the power of God to do what you can’t do on your own. Spiritual disciplines are all about the act of receiving grace to become more in the likeness of Jesus.

 信じる者がその人生で経験するあらゆる変化の核心には、内面に満ち満ちたキリスト の御力があります。パウロはそれを「栄光の望み」と表現していますが、それは古代 の「ポジティブシンキング」手法ではありません。それは、あなたのうちにおられる キリストの御力と可能性のことなのです。  未来志向の「訓練する」生き方を中心としており、変化していくために「挑戦する」生き方とは対照的なものです。

本当の変化は時間を要するとともに、主の御 力と、主のために生きようとするあなたの協力が必要なのです。

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the Hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27)   

This week’s reading: Colossians 2:6-23.   

At the very heart of all change in the life of every Believer is the fullness of Christ within. Paul describes it as the “hope of Glory.” It is not an ancient positive-thinking formula. It is the power and potential of Christ in you.  It is future-oriented, and centers around a “training lifestyle” as opposed to a “trying lifestyle” of transformation. 

True change takes time and involves the power of the Lord and a concerted effort to live for Him.

「訓練」

すぐさまふたりは立って、エルサレムに戻ってみると、十一使徒とその仲間が集まって、｢ほんとうに主はよみがえって、シモンにお姿を現わされた。｣と言っていた。彼らも、道であったいろいろなことや、パンを裂かれたときにイエスだとわかった次第を話した。 （ルカの福音書２４：３３、３４）

ルカの福音書２４：３３−４９、マタイの福音書１５：１−２０   

私たちは教会に出席すること自体が霊的なしつけでありまた教会にとってもそうなのです。ホープチャペル・ウェストとその他のキリストの体の集まりは霊的な変革への道として捉えられるべきです。キリストの弟子としてイエスの名によって集まり魂が変えられる事で私たちの身の周りの人たちの心にも触れる事ができるのです。キリストの名において集まるということはあなた自身だけのことではありません。外側の見た目以上に内側の命もまた伴うのです。   

“They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and appeared to Simon.”

 (Luke 24:33,34)

We often fail to notice that attending church is a spiritual discipline in and of itself. Hope Chapel West Tokyo and all other gatherings of the Body of Christ should be seen as a doorway to spiritual transformation. As Disciples of Christ, we come together in the Name of Jesus, allowing Him to bring about transformation of the soul, which in turn touches those around us. Coming together in the Name of Christ is never just about yourself and always involves the inner life over the outer appearance.
