「あなたの中に神の居場所はあるのか」

マリヤは言った。「わがたましいは主をあがめ、わが霊は、わが救い主なる神を喜びたたえます。主はこの卑しいはしために目を留めてくださったからです。」（ルカ1：46-48）

クリスマスのお話はその物語の途中、多くの贈り物で満たされています。神は、わたし達が主の約束を信じることが難しい時でさえ、なお忠実で信頼できるお方です。ゼカリヤはこのことを沈黙の10ヶ月の間に学びました。今週のメッセージの中で、マリアは「神にとって不可能なことは何もない」ということを学び始めました。主のマリアへの愛と思いやりがすべてを取り囲んでいます。マリヤが「主はこの卑しいはしために目を留めてくださったからです。」と言った時、彼女は、実際にどれだけ広く深く神の思いやりが広範囲にわたり広がっているのか、分かっていませんでした。神はすでにナザレでのマリヤの婚姻手続きについて掌握しており、また、ひっそりと離婚の準備をしていた、苦しむヨセフにも心を配っておられました。神はあなたのことも気にかけています。

 今、この時に、神のあなたへの愛と思いやりがどれだけ広がっているか想像してみてください。 このクリスマスにイエスの栄光を讃え、賛美しましょう。

“My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has been MINDFUL of the humble state of His servant.” (Luke 1:46-48)

The Christmas story is filled with many gifts along the way. God is faithful even when we have trouble believing in His promises to us. Zechariah learned this with ten months of silence. In this week’s message, Mary begins to learn that “nothing is impossible with God.” His love and care for her is all encompassing. When she mentions that God has been mindful of her humble state; she has no idea how far and wide God’s care extends. God is already managing her marriage engagement affairs back in Nazareth with struggling Joseph who was planning to quietly divorce her.

The Lord is also mindful of you; now try to imagine how far that love and care for you extends? Glorify Jesus this Christmas.

クリスマスシーズンに突入しました。このクリスマスの慌しさの只中では、いとも簡単に大事なことを置き去りにしてしまうということを忘れないようにしましょう。イエス・キリストの誕生は、私たちの生きるこの忙しい世界に与えられた最高の贈り物です。

私たちが、時に信仰につまづくことがあったとしても、福音がありえないくらい良いものであり、神がなお誠実であるという事実は素晴らしいものではありませんか？

クリスマスの物語は、主のために人々を備えるバプテスマのヨハネが誕生した奇跡と共に、すでに始まっているのです！

The angel answered Zechariah, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the very presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this Good News. (And now you will be silent and not be able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe My words which will come true at their proper time.” (Luke 11:19,20)

As we enter the Christmas season, let us not forget what is so easily forgotten in the midst of the Christmas rush. It has always been about the birth of Jesus Christ, the greatest gift ever given this busy world that we live in. Isn’t it wonderful that despite our momentarily lapses in faith; God is still faithful when the Good News is too good to believe? The Christmas story begins with the miracle birth of John the Baptist that will make ready a people for the Lord!

 投獄され、鎖につながれたパウロは、キリストを信じる者に向けて、神から受けた召しにふさわしい生活を送るように促しました。十二使徒であるパウロが、牢屋に閉じ込められていながらも、外の自由なクリスチャンたちに向かって、召しにふさわしく生きなさいと説くのは皮肉なことです。私たちは、あまりにもしばしば、神の真理が私たちを自由にしてくれるということを忘れてしまいます。

わたし達は、実際にはそんな必要はないにも関わらず、身の回りにある、あらゆるつまらないものや一時的な事柄に、まるで囚われているかのように生きています。あなたが受けた召しにふさわしく生きることを選んでください。あなたは、確かに自由なのです！

As a prisoner of the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. (Ephesians 4:1)

Paul, imprisoned and chained, urged the followers of Christ to live lives worthy of the calling they had received from God. It’s ironic, that the imprisoned Apostle Paul would urge the free Christians to live lives worthy of their calling. Too often, we can get forget that the truth of God has set us free. We live lives as if imprisoned by all the petty and temporal things around us when in actuality we don’t need to anymore! Choose to live a life worthy of the calling that you have received. For you are free indeed!

心を尽くして主に拠り頼め。自分の悟りにたよるな。（箴言3：5）

今週の聖書箇所：箴言3：1-8 ／使徒の働き16

パウロが2回目の伝道の旅に赴いたとき、私たちは、パウロとその仲間たちの行く道が聖霊によって2度に渡り閉ざされ、彼らがそれに対処しなければならなかった事を見ることができます。何の説明もなしに、です。あなたの人生においても、同じことが起こることがあるでしょう。ドアが目の前で閉じられ、開けられることがないのです。どんな説明もなく、またしばしば、次に何をしたらいいか、指示さえも与えられないでしょう。そのときあなたはどうするでしょうか。自分の知性に拠り頼むか、もしくは、ただ主に信頼を寄せ、いつかドアが開かれ道が示されることを信じ続けるでしょうか。決して一筋縄ではいかない召しでしたが、パウロの場合、それは、彼にヨーロッパに福音を述べ伝えることを許し、ついには世界中に広がることになったのです。

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  (Proverbs 3:5)

This week’s reading: Proverbs 3:1-8 / Acts 16.

On Paul’s second missionary journey we see that he and his companions had to deal with the Holy Spirit blocking their way on two occasions. No explanation given. There will be times in your own life when doors will either be blocked or closed in front of you. No explanation, and often no instructions on where to turn to next. Do you lean on your own understanding or choose to just keep trusting in the Lord to eventually open the doors and show you the way? Never an easy call but in Paul’s case it allowed him to bring the Good News to Europe and then eventually the world.

門よ。おまえたちのかしらを上げよ。

その栄光の王とはだれか。

万軍の主。これぞ、栄光の王。（詩篇24：7-10）

 恐れは、抱えこむのに苦労する、ずっしりとした重荷になる可能性があります。心の門を開け放ち、恐怖により支配されたエリアに、力強い、全能なる栄光の王を招き入れるには、多くの努力を必要とするでしょう。どうか私たちが、自分を守ってくれると信じていた分厚い門を、ただ単に守ってくれるだけでなくそれ以上のことを約束し、また私たちの成すことすべてを祝福してくださる栄光の王の御前にささげ、開くことができるようにさせてください。

Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in. Who is He, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty – He is the King of Glory. (Psalm 24:7-10)

Fear can be a heavy burden to carry. It takes much effort to open the gates of the heart to allow the strong and mighty King of Glory into the areas where fear rules. Let us lift open the heavy gates that we thought would protect us and allow the King of Glory who promises to do much more than simply protect but also bless all that we do.

神の愛、哀れみ、そして御恵みは、この世の始めから変わっていません。それらは、いつでも、今まさに溢れんとするばかりです。ですから、私たちのキリストにある希望もまた、変わる必要がありません。私たちは、イエスが決して私たちをあきらめたりはしないという事実の中に、いつでも安らぐことができるのです。

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

The love, mercy, and grace of God has not changed since the beginning of time. It has always been at the point of overflowing. Neither does the hope that we have in Christ need to change. We can always rest in the eternal fact that Jesus will never give up on us.

私たちの国籍は天にあるとパウロは書いています。今目の前に見えることだけに捕らわれないように、何を後ろに忘れ、何を覚えているべきなのかを、しっかり学べるように自分を霊的にしつける必要があります。自分の罪が完全に赦されていることを思い出し、神の恵みによって生きることを命じられています。自分を落ち込ませるような過去のこと、すなわち、自分の限界、罪悪感、弱さ、後悔、それらをしっかりと後ろに置いて、主イエス・キリストに降伏しなければなりません。そうして前に進みなさい。

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me Heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 3:13,14)

This week’s reading: Philippians 3

Paul reminds us that we are Heaven-bound citizens. In order not to get too attached to the here and now, we are to practice the spiritual discipline of learning what to remember and what to forget. Remembering that we are completely forgiven of our sins and called to live by the grace of God. And also to forget that which is in our past that can weigh us down – our limitations, guilt, weaknesses and regrets. We are to surrender them all to the Lord Jesus Christ and then remember to press onward.

「最後まで強く」

（ヘブル人への手紙１１：１、2）

長い年月ともに過ごした教会の家族を突然失うことは信仰において大きな試練です。今この世界で自分が過ごしている今の時間や体験だけが人生／命なのではない、という現実についてもう一度目覚めさせられます。
毎日の目の前のことばかりに翻弄されずに、永遠の視点を持って自分の人生／命を生きることを忘れないようにしましょう。

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. (Hebrews 11:1,2)

There is no greater test upon your faith than the sudden loss of a longtime church family member. It awakens you to the reality that most of life is more than what we see and experience in the here and now. Let’s us not forget to live life with an eternal perspective.

「向こうの世界への扉」

 「しばらくするとあなたがたは、もはやわたしを見なくなります。しかし、またしばらくするとわたしを見ます。」（ヨハネの福音書16:16）

「あなたがたにも、今は悲しみがあるが、わたしはもう一度あなたがたに会います。そうすれば、あなたがたの心は喜びに満たされます。そして、その喜びをあながたから奪い去る者はありません。その日には、あなたがたはもはや、わたしに何も尋ねません。」

（ヨハネの福音書16:22,23）

“しばらくすると”というフレーズは、私たちが生きる、この、ペースの速い、相互に関連した世界において、聞いて楽しい言葉ではありません。しかしこの言葉が神と共にあるのであれば、しばらく待つということに、確かな目的とご計画があります。想像してください、こんな日のくることを。何事も何者も、あなたの喜びを奪い去ることはできません。そして、そこにはどんな疑問の余地さえないのです。待ちきれないですか？大丈夫、ほんの“しばらく”待つだけです。

“In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me…So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. In that day you will no longer ask me anything.” (John 16:16,22,23)

“In a little while,” is a phrase that we do not enjoy hearing while living in a fast-paced, inter-connected world. But with God, there is a purpose and plan for waiting a little while. Imagine a day, when no one or no thing will be able to take away your joy and there will be no more questions. Can’t wait? In just a little while this day we come.

「しばらくの間」

 「見よ。わたしは、戸の外に立ってたたく。だれでも、わたしの声を聞いて戸をあけるなら、わたしは、彼のところに入って、彼とともに食事をし、彼もわたしとともに食事をする。」（ヨハネの黙示録 3:20）

人生における扉には、開けようとする側と閉じようとする側との両方があります。扉が開くのか、それとも閉ざされたままであるのか、それは誰が扉を叩くのかによっても左右されるでしょう。主によって与えられたどのような一日においても、どんなわずかな一瞬の間にさえも、イエスはあなたの心の扉をノックし、あなたが置かれている状況に招き入れられることを求めています。イエスはあなたの閉ざされたままである扉について、その理由もよくご存知です。けれども、その閉ざされた扉を開き、イエスを招き入れることで、どんな状況の雰囲気も、また結果をも変えることができるのです。あなたはイエスが扉を叩く音が聞こえているでしょうか。

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him and he with me.” (Revelations 3:20)

 

Open and closed doors work two ways. Doors being opened and closed may also depend upon who is knocking. On any given day, and at any given moment, Jesus knocks on the door of your heart asking to be invited into your situation. He understands closed doors more than anyone else. Yet, inviting Him in can totally change the atmosphere and outcome of any situation. Do you hear Him knocking?

そこで、イエスは彼らを呼び寄せて、言われた。「あなたがたも知っているとおり、異邦人の支配者と認められた者たちは彼らを支配し、また、偉い人たちは彼らの上に権力をふるいます。しかし、あなたがたの間では、そうではありません。あなたがたの間で偉くなりたいと思う者はみなに仕える者になりなさい。あなたがたの間で人の先に立ちたいと思う者は、みなのしもべになりなさい。人の子が来たのも、仕えられるためではなく、かえって仕えるためであり、また、多くの人のための、贖いの代価として、自分のいのちを与えるためなのです。」（マルコ10：42-45）

イエスは、神の御国がどのようなものかについてお話されました。イエスの言われる御国とは、自分自身のために建て上げようとする王国とはまったく異なっていることを弟子たちに思い起こさせたのです。神のやり方は、わたしたちのそれとは違い、矛盾しているように見えることがしばしばあります。私たちにとっては小さなことに思えるようなものが、神にとって大きな問題となる可能性があるのです。主の指し示すものを、たいしたことではないと決してないがしろにしてはいけません。それは、神様のご計画やあなたの人生に大きな影響を与える可能性を秘めているからです。

Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first, must be slave of all. For even the son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:42-45)

Jesus had just been talking about the Kingdom of God. He reminded His disciples that the Kingdom of God was very different from trying to build a kingdom for oneself. God’s ways will often seem in contradiction with our own. What may seem to be a small thing to us may often be a big deal to God. Never disregard His prompts as being insignificant for they come with the potential for everlasting change.

また、その啓示があまりにもすばらしいからです。そのために私は、高ぶることのないようにと、肉体に一つのとげを与えられました。それは私が高ぶることのないように、私を打つための、サタンの使いです。このことについては、これを私から去らせてくださるようにと、三度も主に願いました。しかし、主は、「わたしの恵みは、あなたに十分である。というのは、わたしの力は、弱さのうちに完全に現れるからである。」と言われたのです。ですから、私は、キリストの力が私をおおうために、むしろおおいに喜んで私の弱さを誇りましょう。 (コリント人への手紙 第二 12:7-9)

私たちの主、イエス・キリストは、時として私たちの人生に困難をもたらす人々を取り除いてくださらなかったり、治らない病に癒しを与えてくださらなかったり、また、単純に困難な状況から私たちを救い出してくださらないことがあります。それは、主が、私たちの苦しみの棘を取り除くよりももっと素晴らしいご計画をもっていらっしゃるからです。
刺さっているその棘を抜くように祈り求めるその代わりに、今、神の御力があなたの人生において完全に働いてくださることを許可し、成長するためのより多くの恵みを神に求めるのに最善の時かもしれません。あなたが試練の最中に、最後に神の十分な御恵みを求めたのはいつだったでしょうか？

“To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  (2 Corinthians 12:7-9)

There are times when Jesus will not remove difficult people from our lives or bring healing to a nagging ailment or simply pull us out a hard situation because He has greater plans than thorn removal. Instead, it may be best time to ask for more grace to grow in order to allow God’s power to be made perfect in your life. When was the last time that you asked for God’s sufficient grace in times of trial?

聖書の中で、私たちはイエスの弟子たちが、ありとあらゆるものを主に乞い求める場面を目にします。
イエスが「はい」と言われる時があるように、イエスが「いいえ」と言われる時もあります。「いいえ」と言われたその瞬間は不満を感じるでしょうが、いずれ時間の経過や経験によって「いいえ」と言われたことを感謝する時がくるでしょう。
私たちは常に間違ったお願いをする可能性があり、愛情深い私たちの主はそれに対して「いいえ」と言う事のできる、正しい判断力を持ったお方なのです。

“What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open.” (Revelations 3:7)

This week’s reading: Mark 9:2-10/Mark 10:35-40/ Luke 9:51-56.

In the Bible, we see Jesus’ disciples requesting all sorts of things of and from Him. Just as there are times when Jesus says, “Yes,” there also times when He says, “No.” The frustration felt at the moment can with time, hindsight, and experience become times of thanksgiving. Think of all times we may have put in wrong request and a loving God had the sense to say “No.”

「閉められる扉」

今週の聖書箇所：ヨナ書3-4章

主に祈って言った。「ああ、主よ。私がまだ国にいたときに、このことを申し上げたではありませんか。それで、私ははじめタルシシュへのがれようとしたのです。私は、あなたが情け深くあわれみ深い神であり、怒るのにおそく、恵み豊かであり、わざわいを思い直されることを知っていたからです。」

（ヨナ4：2-3）

 ヨナの神への応答において見えてくる明らかな問題は、ニネベの人たちに対する愛の欠如と、自分にしか向けられない関心、そして自分の面目を保つことだけに向けられた意識です。

 他者への愛の欠如は、主が私たちのために開くドアを歩む妨げとなるでしょう。そうです。神は私たちができないものにさえ、思いやりを、愛を、また許しを示すことのできるお方です。神から他者への愛のメッセージを妨げることのないよう、あらゆる努力をしましょう！

This week’s reading: Jonah 3,4.

 So he complained to the LORD about it: ”Didn’t I say before I left home that you would do this LORD? That is why I ran away to Tarshish! I knew that you were a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and filled with unfailing love. I’d rather be dead than to live because nothing I predicted is going to happen.” (Jonah 4:2-3)

One glaring problem that shows up in Jonah’s response to God is his lack of love for the Ninevites and his total concern for self and his own reputation. A lack of love for others will hinder us from walking through the doors God opens up for us. Yes, God is able to show compassion, love and forgiveness even to those that we can’t. Let make every effort to not hinder the message of God’s love for others!

今週の聖書箇所: ヨナ書 1:1-16

ヨナは神の召しに応えずに逃げ出します。神が示す行き先とはまったく逆の方向に向かうために費やした、ありとあらゆる努力の後、ヨナは疲れ果て、深い眠りの中にいました。船に乗っていたすべての人を脅かしている、巨大な嵐の原因となったヨナであるにも関わらず、海と陸を作られた天の神は、なお、ヨナを主の栄光のために喜んで用いることのできるお方です。想像してみてください！

Jonah answered, “I am a Hebrew and I worship the Lord, the God of Heaven, who made the sea and the land.” (1:9)

This week’s reading: Jonah 1:1-16.

Jonah has run away from the calling of God. He is exhausted and in a deep sleep, after all the effort it has taken him to run in the opposite direction of God’s calling. Despite being the cause of the great storm threatening all onboard, the God of Heaven, who made the sea and the land, is still able and willing to use Jonah for His glory. Imagine that!

ヨナは神の召しに応えることを恐れています。 ポンといくらかの現金を支払い、反対方向に向かって進むのは、あながち間違いではないように思われます。 タルシュシュの街が商業と貿易の盛んな都市であることを知っているなら、なおのことです。良い仕事と豊かな財産ほど人生に突然巻き起こる嵐を和らげてくれるものはないように思えることもあるでしょう。しかし、実際に襲いくる嵐が、それらが実は間違っていることを教えてくれます。

あなたは人生で巻き起こる嵐から逃れるために、どこにいかりを下ろしますか？

But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord. (Jonah 1:3)

This week’s reading: Jonah 1:1-3

Jonah is afraid of taking on the calling of God. It seems safe enough to plop down some cash and to head in the other direction. It seems even safer knowing that the city of Tarshish is a booming city of commerce and trade. Nothing would seem safer than a good job and wealth as a buffer against the sudden storms in life. The coming storm would prove that wrong.

Where do you drop anchor for safety from the storms of life?

 (ヨナ書 1:1-3)

神が私たちを助け手として遣わすために何かを命じる時、それは必ずしも楽しい場所や喜びあふれる方法ではないかもしれません。

あなたは、主からの召しを心を傾けて注意深く聞いているでしょうか？もしくは、 次に乗船可能な、反対方向に向かう船の汽笛に耳を傾けているのでしょうか。“タルシュシュ”に向かうことは、主の御心から遠ざかることです。

The Word of the Lord came to Jonah, son of Amiitai: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me. But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish.” (Jonah 1:1-3) 

There are times when God may be calling upon us for help in ways and in places that may not be necessarily all fun and games. Do you heed the call of the Lord or the whistle of the next available ship in the opposite direction? To head for “Tarshish” is to sail away from the will of God.

ルカの福音書１０：３８−４２

マルタは快適な自分の家という場所から、快適ではない位置へと押し入れられ、心乱され、多くのことを心配していました。マルタは、最も大事でもっと必要があることは何なのかを忘れてしまい、他の様々なことに心を配りすぎた結果、イエスに目を集中させる事に失敗します。
そういうことをしてしまう自分の状態は、自分自身でも本当に嫌なものです。
あなたに、本当のことを愛を持って言ってくれる人がいたらいいなと思いませんか？あなたの周りには、あなたにそうしてくれる人はいますか？

The apostle Paul writes, “Speaking truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. (Ephesians 4:15)

This week’s reading: Luke 10:38-42.

In this week’s passage, Martha is in the comfort of her own home but being pushed into an uncomfortable place of her own making. She had become distracted, worried and upset about many things. Martha forgot about what was most needed, which was not attention to detail but attention upon Jesus. Don’t you hate it when you do that? It’s nice to have someone who can speak truth in love to you. Who might that be in your life?

私たちは、冷静な光に照らして自分自身をよくよく見るようにと言われています。そこから見えてくるものは、見ることも、また耳を傾けることさえも苦痛かもしれませんが、神は私たちのためにこれらのことを明らかにしてくださいます。真実はあなたに自由をもたらしますが、最初は痛みをともなうものであるとイエス様はおっしゃいます！開かれたドアを進み歩いていく道のりのはじめには、あなた自身について、目をそらしたり耳をふさぎたくなるようなことが明らかになるでしょう。しかしあなたを自由にすることこそが、主の目的なのです。

Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31,32)

This week’s reading: Romans 12:1-8.

We told are told to view ourselves in a sober light. It can be painful to see and even hear at times but God does reveal these things to us for our own good. Jesus says that the truth will set you free but it will normally be painful first! Walking through open doors will reveal things about yourself that may not want to see or hear at first. Setting you free is His purpose.

（マタイの福音書 10:16）

今週の聖書箇所: ルカの福音書 10:25-37

キリスト・イエスの子羊として、己が羊であることを忘れるということはあまりないでしょう。一見したところ、狼の群れであふれているようなこの世界に福音を述べ伝えるため、神の子羊として私たちは召されています。あなたについてはどうかわかりませんが、私について確かに言えるのは、もしも私がその狼の群れに囲まれたら、いとも簡単にそのうちの一匹のように振舞う自信があるということです！噛み付きかえしたくなるに違いありません。しかしイエスは私たちに、鳩のようにすなおでありなさいとおっしゃるのです。鳩は噛み付くことではなく、平和の象徴として知られています。鳩は、私たちが平和の人になることを思い出させてくれるリマインダーです。

“ I am sending you out like sheep among the wolves. Therefore, be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. (Matthew 10:16)

This week’s reading: Luke 10:25-37.

It doesn’t take much for a sheep of Christ to forget it’s a sheep. As sheep in Christ; we have been called to take the Good News of Jesus Christ into a world seemingly filled with wolves! I don’t know about you but it’s sure easy for me to start acting like one myself when surrounded by them! I feel like biting back. Yet Jesus tells us to be as innocent as doves. Doves are known for their peacefulness not their bite. A reminder to be a person of peace.

彼は言った。「私は、預言者イザヤが言ったように『主の道をまっすぐにせよ』と荒野で叫んでいる者の声です。」(ヨハネの福音書 1:23)

今週の聖書箇所: ヨハネの福音書 1:6-9, 15-34

バプテスマのヨハネが際立っているのは、目的意識とアイデンティティの明確さです。ヨハネは、誰が彼を遣わしたのか、自分が何者なのか、また自分がどの領域において影響力があるのかを良く知っていました。

それとはまったく対照的に、私は自分が臆病で、何も分かっておらず、神様の良い意思にただ満たされているだけだったことを思い出します。誰が自分を遣わしたのか曖昧で、自分が何者か分からず、どこへ行こうとしているのかさえ知りませんでした！

結果、与えることのできた影響はほんの少しでした。願わくば、歳月を重ねたことで少しは変わっていると良いのですが！

私たちがこの世界でイエス様のために影響力を持ちたいと思うなら、自分自身（パーソナリティ、才能、習慣、強みや弱み）について、また自分が置かれている状況（神はどこに私たちを置かれたか）について、時間をとって吟味し、より良く理解する賢さが必要です。

John replied in the words of Isaiah, “I am the voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’ “ (John 1:23)

This week’ reading: John 1:6-9, 15-34.

The one thing that stands out with John the Baptist is his clarity of purpose and identity. He clearly knows who sent him, who he is, and his area of impact. In stark contrast; I remember being naïve, clueless and full of good Godly intentions. Not very sure of who sent me, who I was, and where I was going! Result: very little impact. Hopefully, over the years, it has changed a little!

 We would be wise to take the time to better understand our selves (personality, talents, habits, strengths, and weaknesses) and our surroundings (where God has placed us) if we want to have an impact for Jesus in this world.

あなたがわたしを世に遣わされたように、わたしも彼らを世に遣わしました。
(ヨハネの福音書 17:18)

今週の聖書箇所: ヨハネの福音書 17:14-18 / ヨハネの福音書 20:21 / マタイの福音書 10:1-16.

今週の聖書箇所において、イエスは今日の私たち一人ひとりに対して祈ってくださるのと同じように、弟子たちのために祈っています。主は、私たちはすでにこの世のものではないのだから、この世のもののように振舞ってはいけないと語られます。

しかし、主は決してこの世から離れて生きるように言われているのではありません。そうではなく、私たちこそが、この世に遣わされたものであるとおっしゃいます。私たちは、この世のリビングリームで、オフィスで、クラスルームで、またはご近所付き合いにおいて、さらには、教会の礼拝においてさえ、主に良い働きをするために召され、“とりわけ”られています。

今週の聖書箇所に注目してみましょう。イエスは私たちに、さらに多くを得ようと求めるのではなく、主が与え下さるものにだけに寄り頼む必要があることを思い出させてくれます。主はあなたのそばにいます。そして、あなたが、主と共に今日この一日を乗り切るのに必要なすべてが与えられていることをご存知です。神様に感謝しましょう！

“As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. (John 17:18)

This week’s reading: John 17:14-18 / John 20:21 / Matthew 10:1-16.

In this week’s passage, Jesus prays for His disciples as He does for every one of us today. He speaks of not being a part of the world, just as we are not a part of the world. He never speaks of us retreating from the world but speaks of us being sent into the world. We have been called to be “set apart” for His good work in the living rooms, offices, classrooms, neighborhoods, and even church services of the world. Notice in today’s passage, Jesus reminds us not to take much but to rely on Him to provide. He feels that you have all that it takes to get through your day with Him by your side. Thank God!

今週の聖書箇所: 歴代誌第二25:1-2／サムエル記第二6:1-22

“熱意”とは、活力にあふれたエネルギー、大いなる力に他なりません。私は人生において、その熱意が、自分自身の献身の姿勢にどのように働くのかを用心し、注意深く観察しています。近頃、仕事や結婚生活、またはミニストリーにおいて、己の“熱意”のレベルをきちんと把握できているだろうか？もしも自分の“熱意”のレベルが下がっていたら、回復のために必要なステップ（休息をとる、リフレッシュする、遊ぶ、または率直な意見を交換する等）を取っているだろうか？神は主の御前において、主の御心にかなった人生を実現する、全き心をもった人を常に探しています。喜びにあふれ踊り、飛び跳ねましょう。そして出来得る限りにお祝いするのです。

“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor serving the Lord.” (Romans 12:11)

This week’s reading: 2 Chronicles 25:1,2 / 2 Samuel 6:1-22.

“Zeal” is all about energy and great power. I am to monitor it and guard it in my life in regards to work and life commitments. Am I honest about my “zeal” level these days when it comes to work or marriage or ministry? If my “zeal” level is going down, do I take steps of rest or renewal or play or honest discussion to revive it? God is always looking for wholehearted people to live out His life before Him. Leaping and dancing in joy and celebration when possible!
