"だれが、その日を小さい事としてさげすんだのか。これらは、ゼルバベルの手にある下げ振りを見て喜ぼう。これらの七つは、全地を行き巡る主の目である。"（ゼカリヤ書4:10）

今週の聖書箇所：ヨハネの福音書6：1-9 /ルカの福音書21：1-4

このシンプルなしかし慎重な解釈をするべき2つの聖書箇所は、何が多くて何が少ないかについてイエスが私たちとは全く異なる視点を持っていることをはっきりと示しています。山の中腹にいた弟子達には、少年の手にあるパンが大群衆のお腹を満たせるほど十分にあるとはとても見えませんでした。また、ぎっしりと詰まった献金箱の中に投げ込まれたたった２枚の小さなコインなどあってもなくても大差はありませんでした。

しかしそれでも、イエスには十分な恵みでした。大したことのない、僅かばかりだと思うような神への捧げ物や奉仕に対して神がお出来になることを決して過小評価してはいけません。あなたに誠実で慈悲深い主に信仰をもちましょう。

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”

(Zechariah 4:10)

This week’ reading: John 6:1-9 / Luke 21:1-4.

A simple but careful examination of the two Bible passages, shows us clearly that Jesus obviously has a very different perspective of what constitutes little or much. To the disciples on the hillside, the bread in the boy’s hands did not seem enough to feed the multitudes. The clinging of two small coins into the Temple’s treasury box did not sound like much to make any difference.

And yet to Jesus, it was great bounty. Never underestimate what God is able to do with what may feel to be meager offerings of gifts and service to Him. Give in faith to a God whom is bountiful in faithfulness to you!

ペテロは彼を見て、イエスに言った。「主よ、この人はどうですか。」
（ヨハネの福音書21:21）

今週の聖書箇所：ヨハネの福音書21：15-22

他人を見て、自分と比較するのは、イエスが甦った後にガリラヤの海岸でとった朝食のようなものです（ヨハネの福音書21:1-14参照）。

墓から甦ったイエスを実際にその目で見たことでさえ、ペテロの注目と思考を保つのに十分ではありませんでした。ですから、最終的に一つの強い言葉で、イエスはペテロを導くために言ったのです。「私に従いなさい。」と。唯一ペテロに関係のあることとはイエスに従うことだけでした。イエスのヨハネに対する召しはペテロにはまったく関係のない事でした。

この新年を力強く始めるための知恵の言葉です！どこで網をしかければ魚がとれるかご存知の方に、そしてまた私たちのために熱々の素晴らしい朝食を用意してくださるただひとりの方に焦点をあて続けましょう。

When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” (John 21:21)

This week’s reading: John 21:15-22.

Looking at others and comparing ourselves to them is as old Jesus’ first breakfast on the shores of Galilee. Even the sight of Jesus after his resurrection from the dead was not enough to keep hold of Peter’s gaze and thoughts. So in one strong final word of instruction, Jesus told Peter, his only business was to follow Him. Jesus’ calling upon John was absolutely none of Peter’s concern.
