望みを抱いて喜び、患難に耐え、絶えず祈りに励みなさい。聖徒の入用に協力し、旅人をもてなしなさい。あなたがたを迫害する者を祝福しなさい。祝福すべきであって、のろってはいけません。（ローマ12：12－14）
呪うのではなく、祝福しなさいというパウロの訓戒は安全な環境の中で与えられた訳ではありません。それはあなたの内にある聖霊の生きた力とともに、あなたが果たさなければならない努力も十分考慮された上で与えられたのです。呪いではなく祝福となりうる可能性はあなたの中に計り知れないほどあります。あなた自身の意思を持って他の人を聖霊にあって祝福しましょう。あなたはきっと、あなたを通じた神様の働きに驚くことでしょう。
“Be joyful in hope,
patient in infliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in
need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not
curse.” (Romans 12:12-14)
Paul’s admonition to bless
and not curse isn’t given within a sterile environment. It is given with the
full awareness of the effort it will take on your part along with the living
power of the Holy Spirit within you. The potential within in you to be a
blessing and not a curse to others is unfathomable. Will yourself to bless
others in spirit and be amazed at what God can do through you!
