マリヤは言った。「わがたましいは主をあがめ、わが霊は、わが救い主なる神を喜びたたえます。主はこの卑しいはしために目を留めてくださったからです。」（ルカ1：46-48）
クリスマスのお話はその物語の途中、多くの贈り物で満たされています。神は、わたし達が主の約束を信じることが難しい時でさえ、なお忠実で信頼できるお方です。ゼカリヤはこのことを沈黙の10ヶ月の間に学びました。今週のメッセージの中で、マリアは「神にとって不可能なことは何もない」ということを学び始めました。主のマリアへの愛と思いやりがすべてを取り囲んでいます。マリヤが「主はこの卑しいはしために目を留めてくださったからです。」と言った時、彼女は、実際にどれだけ広く深く神の思いやりが広範囲にわたり広がっているのか、分かっていませんでした。神はすでにナザレでのマリヤの婚姻手続きについて掌握しており、また、ひっそりと離婚の準備をしていた、苦しむヨセフにも心を配っておられました。神はあなたのことも気にかけています。
今、この時に、神のあなたへの愛と思いやりがどれだけ広がっているか想像してみてください。 このクリスマスにイエスの栄光を讃え、賛美しましょう。
“My soul
glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has been
MINDFUL of the humble state of His servant.” (Luke 1:46-48)
The
Christmas story is filled with many gifts along the way. God is faithful even
when we have trouble believing in His promises to us. Zechariah learned this
with ten months of silence. In this week’s message, Mary begins to learn that
“nothing is impossible with God.” His love and care for her is all
encompassing. When she mentions that God has been mindful of her humble state;
she has no idea how far and wide God’s care extends. God is already managing
her marriage engagement affairs back in Nazareth with struggling Joseph who was
planning to quietly divorce her.
The Lord
is also mindful of you; now try to imagine how far that love and care for you
extends? Glorify Jesus this Christmas.

クリスマスシーズンに突入しました。このクリスマスの慌しさの只中では、いとも簡単に大事なことを置き去りにしてしまうということを忘れないようにしましょう。イエス・キリストの誕生は、私たちの生きるこの忙しい世界に与えられた最高の贈り物です。
私たちが、時に信仰につまづくことがあったとしても、福音がありえないくらい良いものであり、神がなお誠実であるという事実は素晴らしいものではありませんか？
クリスマスの物語は、主のために人々を備えるバプテスマのヨハネが誕生した奇跡と共に、すでに始まっているのです！
The angel
answered Zechariah, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the very presence of God, and I
have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this Good News. (And now you
will be silent and not be able to speak until the day this happens, because you
did not believe My words which will come true at their proper time.” (Luke
11:19,20)
As we enter the Christmas season, let us
not forget what is so easily forgotten in the midst of the Christmas rush. It
has always been about the birth of Jesus Christ, the greatest gift ever given
this busy world that we live in. Isn’t it wonderful that despite our
momentarily lapses in faith; God is still faithful when the Good News is too
good to believe? The Christmas story begins with the miracle birth of John the
Baptist that will make ready a people for the Lord!

さて、主の囚人である私はあなたがたに勧めます。召されたあながたがは、その召しにふさわしく歩みなさい。（エペソ人への手紙4：1）
投獄され、鎖につながれたパウロは、キリストを信じる者に向けて、神から受けた召しにふさわしい生活を送るように促しました。十二使徒であるパウロが、牢屋に閉じ込められていながらも、外の自由なクリスチャンたちに向かって、召しにふさわしく生きなさいと説くのは皮肉なことです。私たちは、あまりにもしばしば、神の真理が私たちを自由にしてくれるということを忘れてしまいます。
わたし達は、実際にはそんな必要はないにも関わらず、身の回りにある、あらゆるつまらないものや一時的な事柄に、まるで囚われているかのように生きています。あなたが受けた召しにふさわしく生きることを選んでください。あなたは、確かに自由なのです！
As a
prisoner of the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you
have received. (Ephesians 4:1)
Paul,
imprisoned and chained, urged the followers of Christ to live lives worthy of
the calling they had received from God. It’s ironic, that the imprisoned
Apostle Paul would urge the free Christians to live lives worthy of their
calling. Too often, we can get forget that the truth of God has set us free. We
live lives as if imprisoned by all the petty and temporal things around us when
in actuality we don’t need to anymore! Choose to live a life worthy of the
calling that you have received. For you are free indeed!

心を尽くして主に拠り頼め。自分の悟りにたよるな。（箴言3：5）
今週の聖書箇所：箴言3：1-8 ／使徒の働き16
パウロが2回目の伝道の旅に赴いたとき、私たちは、パウロとその仲間たちの行く道が聖霊によって2度に渡り閉ざされ、彼らがそれに対処しなければならなかった事を見ることができます。何の説明もなしに、です。あなたの人生においても、同じことが起こることがあるでしょう。ドアが目の前で閉じられ、開けられることがないのです。どんな説明もなく、またしばしば、次に何をしたらいいか、指示さえも与えられないでしょう。そのときあなたはどうするでしょうか。自分の知性に拠り頼むか、もしくは、ただ主に信頼を寄せ、いつかドアが開かれ道が示されることを信じ続けるでしょうか。決して一筋縄ではいかない召しでしたが、パウロの場合、それは、彼にヨーロッパに福音を述べ伝えることを許し、ついには世界中に広がることになったのです。
Trust in
the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. (Proverbs
3:5)
This
week’s reading: Proverbs 3:1-8 / Acts 16.
On Paul’s
second missionary journey we see that he and his companions had to deal with
the Holy Spirit blocking their way on two occasions. No explanation given.
There will be times in your own life when doors will either be blocked or
closed in front of you. No explanation, and often no instructions on where to
turn to next. Do you lean on your own understanding or choose to just keep
trusting in the Lord to eventually open the doors and show you the way? Never
an easy call but in Paul’s case it allowed him to bring the Good News to Europe
and then eventually the world.
