今週の聖書個所：ルカ10：38－42
今週の聖書個所で、イエス様と弟子たちを家に迎え入れたのはマルタだったとルカは証言しています。しかし、マルタはすぐに、彼女がやらなきゃと感じていたいろいろな準備に気を取られてしまいました。このマルタの様子を、イエス様は、たった一つの必要な事を選べずに「いろいろなことを心配して、気を使っている」と言い表したのです。人生においてもそういう事があります。私たちはイエス様を家に招いておきながら、自分の一日からすぐにイエス様を締め出してしまうのです。私たちは「家」にいたとしても、何かに気を取られてイエス様を計算式から除外してしまうと、もはや「イエス様と共に家にいる」わけではなくなります。こんなふうに、自分の居間に神様にいていただく事をどうしてか忘れてしまうと、一つの問題や事件が多くの問題に発展していくことになるのです！私たちが「いろいろなことを心配して気を使って」しまうのも無理もありません。自分の心に招き入れたお方に対して、あなたが逸らされることなく注目していない限り、あなたの目に映る状況は真実ではなく、計算式も間違っていて、物語は完成しないのです。今が魂を神様と共に家に帰すべき時ではありませんか？
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you
are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has
chosen what is better and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:41,42)

In this week’s passage, Luke states that it
was Martha who invited Jesus and the boys to stay over at her home. She is also
immediately distracted by all the preparations that she felt had to be done.
Jesus described this distraction as being “worried and upset about many
things,” over the decision to choose the one thing that was actually needed.
Life can be like that at times; we invite
Jesus over to the house but quickly squeeze Him out of our day. We are at
“home” but not “at home with Jesus,” due to distractions that push Him out of
the equation. One problem or incident that escalates into many by somehow
forgetting to keep God in the living room! It is no wonder we get “worried and
upset about so many things.” The picture is never true, the equation is never
correct, and the story is never complete without giving your un-divided
attention to the One that you invited into your heart. Is it time to bring the
soul back home with God?
