ペテロは彼を見て、イエスに言った。「主よ、この人はどうですか。」

今週の聖書箇所：ヨハネの福音書21：15-22
他人を見て、自分と比較するのは、イエスが甦った後にガリラヤの海岸でとった朝食のようなものです（ヨハネの福音書21:1-14参照）。
墓から甦ったイエスを実際にその目で見たことでさえ、ペテロの注目と思考を保つのに十分ではありませんでした。ですから、最終的に一つの強い言葉で、イエスはペテロを導くために言ったのです。「私に従いなさい。」と。唯一ペテロに関係のあることとはイエスに従うことだけでした。イエスのヨハネに対する召しはペテロにはまったく関係のない事でした。
この新年を力強く始めるための知恵の言葉です！ どこで網をしかければ魚がとれるかご存知の方に、そしてまた私たちのために熱々の素晴らしい朝食を用意してくださるただひとりの方に焦点をあて続けましょう。

Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” (John 21:21)
This
week’s reading: John 21:15-22.
Looking
at others and comparing ourselves to them is as old Jesus’ first breakfast on
the shores of Galilee. Even the sight of Jesus after his resurrection from the
dead was not enough to keep hold of Peter’s gaze and thoughts. So in one strong
final word of instruction, Jesus told Peter, his only business was to follow
Him. Jesus’ calling upon John was absolutely none of Peter’s concern.
