クリスマスと新年のお祝いがもうすぐ私たちにやってきます。新年の到来前に物事を急いで片付けようする傾向も同時にやってくるでしょう。私はすでに、危険な運転をするドライバーと、忙しい母親が電動自転車で歩道を疾走し、危うく誰かとぶつかりそうになることが増えているのに気づいています。
デッドラインの12月31日にすべてを間に合わせるようにゴールするためには、クリスマスの楽しみをすべて諦めたほうがいいでしょう。
イエスは、聖霊によって導かれ、強められた霊的な人生を生きるように私たちを召しています。そしてまた、私たちの周りにいるほとんどの人とは違ったレースを走るように求めています。何が正しいことなのかを見失わず、この季節を急いでいる人たちと共に心安らかに過ごしましょう。
Do not
repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of
everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with
everyone. (Romans 12:17,18)
Christmas
and the New Year’s celebration will soon be upon us. So will the tendency to
rush and wrap things up before the coming of the New Year. I’m already noticing
an increase in aggressive driving on the roads and of the uptick of near misses
as busy mothers zoom by on their motorized bicycles on the sidewalks! It would
be most natural to lose all Christmas cheer as we speedily race to the finish
line that is December 31st.
